Now this is a striking image!

He appears to be struggling to gain entry into the monochromatic world; it looks like tentacles & manacles of hue and tint are reaching out to drag him back into mere polychromaticty! His face is so strained! I wonder if he has the strength to push through?

One is made to wonder if he will persevere or if he will be defeated by Colour at last!

I think, dear Dorapz, you've hit all four nails on the head in this image of anxious struggle!

While struggle is common to all peoples, I think couching it in this mythological way allows your painting to speak directly to the heart of anyone participating in this art with you. This vision of struggle and violent restraint is compelling.

Your technique tells its part of the story: basic palette of reds and blues and brights speaks of fiery force being used against him. As if in trying to break out of polychromaticity, he will burn.

I am not quite sure what to make of his face. Obviously, the style is not "photographic realism", so I am not expecting anything like a realistic (or even idealistic) portrayal of emotion. And perhaps it is the empty face that speaks loudest? The lack of facial details is in contrast to the details of his hands and fingers. All have come through the interface and into monochromaticity: it is a little distracting and confusing what his nearly blank face is to convey!

What I see is that the part of him that is still in colour is blurred (like an impressionist image) while his hands are much clearer and in focus.

Perhaps it is the case that his face (as representing his persona) is still in the process of transformation, and thus must be left blurred and scanty of detail?

All in all a beautiful image!

Did you make a story to go along with this image, or are you leaving that to us outside?
